About Jeff Homes
Jeff Holmes is a lifelong Glasgow Rangers supporter, and attended his first game at the age of 10 when he travelled on the John Greig Loyal supporters bus, from Maryhill, to Somerset Park for the match against Ayr United. He can’t remember the score as it was so long ago!

His favourite Rangers players were Colin Stein, Dave Smith, Colin Jackson and Ian Durrant, and his favourite game remains the 2-2 draw with Celtic at Ibrox in 1987 when Rangers had two players sent off. He remembers it as an eventful afternoon.
He missed very few games in his youth, and followed the team abroad on many occasions, once missing the bus home from Düsseldorf after deciding it was far more important to celebrate Rangers making the next round of the competition!

In 2004 he gave up his season ticket to concentrate on his role as a sports journalist covering matches for The Sun and the Daily Record, and traipsing the length of the country to do so. He would still get to see the mighty Gers when he wasn’t working elsewhere, but for the time being it was regular trips to Stenhousemuir, East Stirling and Stranraer.
And then came 2012, and Rangers’ demotion to Scotland’s footballing basement. While everyone and their granny was busy kicking the club when they were down, Jeff decided it was time to get the season ticket back, and he quit his dream job to once again follow follow the Gers full time.

And so it was regular trips to Stenhousemuir, East Stirling and Stranraer!

Jeff has written extensively on Rangers, and penned autobiographies on the likes of Mark Walters, Marco Negri, Jock Wallace and Alex Totten, as well as stars of yesteryear such as the great Davie Meiklejohn and Sam English.
In a book called The Rangers Revolution, he dissected the year 1986; and also wrote a book about arguably Rangers’ most successful season - 1992/93.

The aim of the Rangers Heritage website is to make public the dozens of interviews he’s conducted with Rangers personalities over the years, and to also share his love of the club’s illustrious history through a series of eye-opening articles on key personnel since the club’s humble beginnings.
